The Vanilla Fleximat is reversible with one side a light neutral cream or soft beige colour and the reverse is a much lighter shade, almost grey-white with the outline of three flowers on both sides.

Fleximats are an ideal solution for saving your furniture from the unwanted scuffs and marks that always seem to occur during mealtimes. These woven vinyl textiles from Plymouth Pottery are a new and modern style of reversible tablemats and serve as an attractive alternative to our classic corkbacked placemats.

Large floppy placemats have been carefully woven from a food safe PVC and textile compound. The mat is topped with a simple floral outline providing protection to your valuable dining or kitchen table and keeping it from scratches and heat damage often caused by dinner plates.

Available as sets of 4, these non-rigid table placemats are a large size of 45cm x 30cm (17.75 x 11.25 inches). For the UK this is classified as an oversize tablemat which allows you to keep the cutlery, wine glass and dinner plate all on the same flexible place mat. This way you do not need a separate drinks coaster to protect your kitchen or dining table.

The flexibility and strength of the set of four Fleximats counts for two of the benefits of the woven vinyl textile material and which creates a practical solution to protect your table. The non-slip texture of the PVC fabric we use is another of the advantages that the Fleximat has compared to a traditional cotton or linen tablemat. There is less chance of the tablemats sliding around your table like a cotton placemat might, especially when a plate is on top.

Taking good care of your tablemats

To get the most out of your Vanilla Fleximats you should wipe them clean with a bit of soap and water and a soft cloth, as soon as possible after they have been used. If you need to remove any really stubborn stains just gently rub the surface with a soft brush. You can also, if needed, use an antibacterial soap. Ideally try and get rid of any food stains immediately. Afterwards allow the table mats to dry naturally before storing.

Try not to fold your flexible dining table placemats when storing them; they should be stored flat and not creased. Also avoid putting them in the dishwasher or washing machine. The Plymouth Pottery Fleximats are a child friendly tabletop solution which can be used outdoors as well as indoors, but should not be left for too long in direct sunlight.
