The heat-treated, hard solid glaze on the upper surface is very hardwearing and protects the artwork of the white Spring design. The hardboard centre of these floral tablemats is a generous 5mm thick which means each tablemat has a solid and sturdy feel. It is this thickness which stops the heat coming from your plates getting through to the surface of your precious kitchen or dining table. As with all of the Plymouth Pottery placemats and coasters, the funky and floral Spring pattern is not just a practical way to protect your table surfaces. The underneath of each placemat has a thin layer of soft cork backing which keeps your furniture free of damage from marks or abrasions.

The size of these rectangular placemats is the typical UK dimension of 29.2cm x 21.6cm (11.5 x 8.5 inches) which will hold all sizes of dinner plates. Supplied as a set of six in an attractive presentation style box with a see-through cellophane lid, allowing you to see the Spring tablemats inside.

Matching floral drinks coasters

To compliment the Spring, just as with our other floral place mats, matching square shaped corkbacked drinks coasters in sets of six are also available. Each cork backed coaster has the same white floral pattern as the place mats. The coasters are just as easy to look after, they just need to be wiped clean first with a damp cloth or sponge. Then with a soft teatowel or dishcloth, gently rub the coaster or placemat dry.

This might be obvious, but to keep your placemats and coasters looking good for years, you should not put them in either the microwave or the dishwasher and definitely do not immerse them in water. Meant primarily for domestic use, these tablemats can handle temperatures up to around 100ºC, which is fine for your dinner plates. However the surface of the placemats would not be able to cope with the high levels of heat generated by pans or dishes taken straight from the oven or hob.
