The heat-treated, hard solid glaze on the upper surface is durable and provides protection for the artwork of the Harbour View design. The hardboard centre of these nautical tablemats is a solid 5mm thick which means each tablemat feels strong and sturdy. The thickness stops any heat from your dinner plates getting through to the surface of your treasured kitchen or dining table. The underside of each set of placemats has a soft corkbacked layer which keeps your furniture free of damage from scratches or abrasions.

These rectangular placemats are the standard UK sze of 29.2cm x 21.6cm (11.5 x 8.5 inches) which will comfortably hold all sizes of dinner plates. They come in a presentation box as a set of six with a see-through cellophane lid, allowing you to see the Harbour View tablemats inside.

To compliment the Harbour View placemats, matching square shaped corkbacked drinks coasters are available. Also suppplied in sets of six, each cork backed coaster has the same British harbour scene as the place mats. The coasters are just as easy to maintain, simply wipe clean with a damp cloth or sponge, then gently rub the nautical placemats or coasters dry with a soft teatowel or dishcloth.

To keep your Plymouth Pottery placemats and coasters looking good for years, you should not put them in either the microwave or the dishwasher and definitely avoid submerging them in water. These Plymouth Pottery tablemats are compliant with EU and US environmental regulations that apply to cork backed place mats, including the relevant codes related to renewable resources, this helps to protect our planet as well as our furniture.

Made primarily for domestic use, these nautical placemats can withstand temperatures up to around 100ºC, which is enough for your plates or bowls. The surface is not designed to cope with the high levels of heat created by pans or dishes taken directly from the oven or hob.
